                                                 BANGIFEX – Feed industry

The use of antibiotics as animal growth promoters becomes more and more  restrained internationally. Since January 2006 for instance, EU legal draft prohibited fully the non-therapeutic use of antibiotics in feed industry.

We at B&G are of the opinion that with consumer’s growing concern about food safety this trend will continue generalizing to many other areas in the world, especially to countries exporting meat products to Europe or Japan for instance.

Organic acids in general, and Lactic acid in particular, being naturally present in animal and human tissues, are definitely among of the best substitutes to feed antibiotics.

In order to meet the new requirements of market, B&G developed several products under the brand name “BANGIFEX”. “BANGIFEX” products are made of lactic acid, eventually blended with other organic acids, and are available in liquid and solid forms..

By reducing both the pH in animals’ gastrointestinal tract and of the feed itself, “BANGIFEX” improves the secretion of digestive enzymes, inhibits the pathogens and enhances the growth of beneficiary bacteria. An extensive study conducted by B&G together with Anhui Agricultural University on 120 piglets of 3 different breeds showed clearly that using BANGIFEX results in a sharp increase of ADG (Average Daily Gain) while reducing at the same time significantly the amount of feed used per weight gained, proving that BANGIFEX improves the feeding efficiency. B&G will exhibit L (+) lactic acid and its derivative in China Anhui Products Exhibition which will be held in Palayan Meeting Center, Nueva Ecija, Philippine from 2nd September 2006. There are all kinds of products from Anhui Province on this exhibition.
